ASUG – Texas Houston Chapter meeting Feb-10-2012

Cameron International played perfect host to the ASUG – Texas Houston chapter meeting. This was my first time speaking at any of the ASUG chapter event. The audience were great considering the bad weather we had in morning. I think about 60+ made to the event out of 90 registered to this event.

After introduction by Rob, we had a very good presentation by Cameron and Open Text on the POC they are working on for building a DMS solution. Just listening to them gave good idea of the challenges faced in document and content management.

We had quick break around 10 AM and we then started with my presentation on Crystal Reports/Business Objects Enterprise. It was more of a technical hands on where i have shown the features which could be utilized within Crystal Reports, Universe and BOE. We had good questions asked by audience on some of the aspects I was presenting and what more could be achieved with few spins to what i had shown. I had to hurry a bit at end as I was not able to demo the entire presentation I had. Will be uploading this session on ASUG around March first week., so keep an eye out for that content, I will likely post the videos of the demo I had done probably in march frist week as well.

After my session we had session by Brian Raver and Michael Moore from Cisco and Medtronic who presented the HANA implementation at Medtronic which was fascinating to hear on the process and challenges they faced being one of the first customer to implement HANA system.

Lunch and Birds of Feather sessions followed after that and had prize raffle before closing the chapter meeting. Congratulations to ASUG, Terry and Rob to organize this chapter meeting for SAP and BOBJ folks of houston.

Congratulations and thanks to Terry, Roberts
