Good to be back – Posting Blog article that is !
There have been so many things which clicked me in last 2 weeks which I wanted to write about, make a VBlog about but as they say “It takes less time to do a thing right, than it does to explain why you did it wrong.” So I was trying to be perfectionist and do it in best possible manner than just spitting the things out here.
First of all, I have started “Teaching” again. Have a good group of enthusiastic students who are keen on learning about SAP Analytics and make it as part of their career.
We had a marathon 4 hour non-stop class on Saturday. It gave me good run on basics which we normally gets rusty with. Having a HANA image with SAP Business Objects 4.1 and its product suite is helping me to think out of the box and actually do the exercises which sometimes we don’t get use case to do at our workplaces.
Yes, I recording the sessions and not finding time to edit those to load those videos on my YouTube channel. There are some other great videos from SAP Business Objects Analytics ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69A-AYIJnyCN_CpJOkAKmQ )
Really great content to get started and put into practice.
I promise to find some time this weekend and edit the video of the class and show simple steps of
1. Creation of new Schema in SAP HANA
2. Using SAP BODS Data services to create a data flow and load data from SQL Server 2012 to SAP HANA system.
3. We will then create Universe based against this SAP HANA schema we created in Step 1
4. Save it to BI platform, Giver rights in CMC to connection/universe directory and then
5. Access this Universe and create WebI (Web Intelligence) reports from BI Launchpad
6. Use Crystal Reports for Enterprise to connect to this Universe and publish the reports to BI launchpad and access it from there
7. Create a direct HANA connection from CR for Enterprise and publish the report.
**If someone wants to view the un-edited copy of this, comment on here or send me an email.
Will take leave now and will try to be more frequent at writing the posts here.
Goodnight from Houston to sweet world out there.
